Oil leak beside AC compressor

Is there something hidden by the AC compressor on the 2.5 v6 that could produce an oil leak? I've replaced the pan gasket and front cover gasket, but am still getting a leak down that side of the block. The leak is not coming from the oil filter. Seems to be coming from beside the AC compressor. Oil is leaking onto the AC heat shield and running down the block and across the pan. Not a fast leak, but I want to address it.

Thanks,

Tony

Are there any components screwed into the block near the AC compressor, besides the crank sensor, oil filter or dipstick tube?

Tony

I have the same leak on my car. I think it may be the crank seal.

I have replaced the pan gasket, front cover gasket and crank seal. Also replaced all the top-end gaskets. This leak is definitely coming down the side of the block behind/beside the AC compressor. Is there an oil pressure sender near there?

Tony

I know the oil pressure sender is by the AC compressor but if what I've read is correct it's on the front not the side. Sorry if that isn't much help.

On a side note, how hard was the crank seal to replace?

Just checked my Haynes manual, its says: "The switch is screwed into the rear of the cylinder block, adjacent to the oil filter."

I have a very small leak at the same spot myself. But thats because right next to the oil pressure sender, i tapped the block for an oil pressure guage. If in fact everything else checks out, then the only logical place u could be leaking would be the oil pressure sender.

I vote yes to this

The seal was easy to replace, but mainly because I had the cover off when I did it. I'm sure it would be more tricky doing it on the vehicle, but it shouldn't be too difficult.

I have a pesky leak too. This thread had got me thinking. I have too replaced crank seal, drain plug and oil pan gasket.

I had the same problem some weeks ago, I located the problem , and I think your problem is the same I had. replace the Oil Presure Sensor, this going to fix the problem. regards
