those are the rims any help would be appreciated
thanks !

well just ask your friend if you can see one of the rims and try it.
obviously the maxima ones won't fit since they are 5x114.3. your best bet is to just try a rim and see.

doesn't mean the bolt spacing is the same...proofread your posts before you hit reply, a person can get a friggen headache trying to decipher what your saying

Ok, since we are on the subject of rims and noob questions...

Is there any benefit from using a larger rim? Or does it just look 'cooler'.
larger wheels really just look cool. the only advantage they may offer is the ease in finding a high performance street tire that fits. for example, there are very few choices for high performance street tires in 13s or 14s.

Not exactly, bigger the rims (upto a certain size), the better stability you`ll get in corners.

Bigger wheels look cooler depending on what they look like, LOL.
Using bigger wheels provide better cornerning, braking and overall traction due to more tire contacting the road. The downfall of this is it affects accelerating for the same reasons as well as overall MPG, though it may not be noticeable like the handling changes it does affect it. Now if you live in an area with snow, bigger wheels have the opposite effect in those conditions. Unless the car was manufactured with 17s-20s it will create nothing but a problem trying to get traction, mostly uphill and stopping. Hope that helped.

Also a Nissan Wheel will not fit a Ford, I think only if it's a universal wheel and no matter what, most jap imports don't mesh with american cars, especially not a euro made car like the Contique. May have better luck with a VW or sumthin. I could be wrong...

The only wheels that fit the Contour are of some odd makes you may never heard of, some Citroen and Peugeot models, as they have the same 4x108 lug spacing. However, their rims look like poopoo compared to Ford, and if you really want to use Nissan rims, you need adapters which will also act like spacers between the rim and the hub. Depending on the Nissan wheels` offset, they may rub against the outer edge of the wheel arch, or you may get away with it if your lucky.

I don`t know for sure, but usually stores with aftermarket parts for the Contour, such as turbo and superchargers, fancy brakes and suspensions usually carry those spacers as well. So just look around and youll find `em for sale somewhere, also try searching these forums for group buys, maybe theres someone manufacturing and selling those right here.
