Well I just heard back from my professor, and I still have to take my final exam at 8am on Monday. Even if I can move my Friday exam this just does not look like it is happening at all. I hope everyone has a good time and I just hope I can come next year :(.

That sucks. :( Oh well, there's always next year. My first SZ was '07.

The SZ timeframe always sucked for college students.

That sucks. You could be like me, I have never been :nonono: . I know I'm an old fart, wtf right  .

Hey, we could have our own SZ up here... And we can make it Zetec's only, LOL... Who really needs to see all of those SVT'S?

Meh, I'm in it a lot for the people, not only the cars. Most of the cars are essentially the same. They have mostly the same mods. Nothing against everyone or anything, but I mean I've seen a few of the best cars on CEG in person already. Brian, Bob, Tony, Greg all have GREAT cars (Mike/Kim's Cougar is pretty cool, too, but too bad it's a TROLL ). It would just be great to go and see all the people WITH the cars all having a freaking good time.

Aww, come on. What? We're not cool enough for you? Maybe you can replace the HG on that T-Bird for me after you make me a sandwich:shrug: . That would be fun:shrug:

I've mentioned this for the last 4 years... no one seems to care. So I never get to go. Now that I'm done with college all I do is work and can't get the time off.

And what bothers me is that a LARGE percentage of people who want to attend are in college. If this got pushed to the first week in June, SO many more people would attend I would think...

yeah, I think this need to be pushed harder. These cars are getting cheaper and the owners are getting younger. People complain that it's Spring Zing and not Summer Zing, but the first week of June isn't bad and that would allow everyone to go.

There are a ton of youngsters at SZ ........... but they're all from EGL region ;)

You just have to move. :p

Traditions are hard to break, and us old farts are set in our ways.

Ian, the Cougar is all mine, baby. Mike has his own SVT, you just didn't see it because it's covered up.
It's pretty, I swear. :)

I'm not even in college and I think the SZ dates are retarded. It's so much work for me every year to make the arrangments to get out there.

They complain about the low number of people registered but I think it could be double that if it was in June/July.

Every year there are multiple other events that the organizers of SZ have always had to dance around.
The May dates that have stuck are because they work the best for those other schedules.

If it's in June, you have to contend with Carlisle, and it's apparent that most east coasters would choose Carlisle over SZ.
That would drop the SZ numbers significantly.

July is too fuggin hot. Plus it conflicts with Cougarfest and other events that escape my memory right now.

That's the weekend of the All-Ford Nationals, and where you'll find me and a lot of other F/L/M fanatics.

What about me SLACKER, I'm going hahahahaha. You missed my name

Well I think I'm out for SZ too. I'm just not really feeling it this year and I have too much going on. The gas prices are insane right now and I could use the extra cash from not going to SZ to cover some bills and what not. Sandra is not on good terms right now with her mother so she is staying with me for a few months. I just found out a few hours ago that she can go to SZ, but I think we'd rather put the money and vacation time towards something else this year. I'm just trying to get all my sh*t together and not spend all my time and money on these cars.

If I had sold the 00 SVT by now, I'd be going for sure but things didn't work out like that because of the missing title and that's my top priority right now.

Have fun guys. I don't see any reason why I won't be out there for next year though. I'm planning on going to Carlisle this year for the first time, so I won't be completely missing out on the fun.

I'm not gonna be able to make it out due to school as well. I have a 12 page paper due on a passage by Daniel Defoe next Friday which will probably occupy every free moment from monday til then.

Plus I really can't afford to miss work that week. It's bad enough I cut my hours short during the winter months and barely have enough money to pay bills, but than not only can I not save up enough to pay for SZ, I also have no time to get the SVT up to par for such a stupendous event. I mean the organizers of SZ could try moving it back once. I know everyone is set in their ways but newer and younger people are now owning contours and some small attempt to embrace or accept these new owners could be attempted, no matter how annoying or "noobish" they may be. Also I know other events go on in June and late May but it's not like these events take up a weeks at a time.

As the years go on and younger and younger people start owning contours and as they get rarer and rarer the attendance at SZ will start to decline and something will have to be done to raise attendance or this event will die altogether. I desperately want to attend a SZ but if they keep scheduling it at such a hectic time of year others as well as myself won't be able to attend, and when I finally can, I may not be interested enough to.:blackeye:
