two days ago I had dash lights. last night I had none. my clock doesn't switch to the night light, and I dont get HVAC or dash lights. My engine management lights still work, including the high beam light indicator and turn signals.

I checked the fuse and its perfect. I'm not sure what would cause this, and why one day it's working, but not the next.

Anyone have any ideas or places that I could start?

Turn on headlights. Look outside rear lights. Is it on or off? If off, then you need the Headlamp switch recall kit.

If rear lights are on, check fuse panel for instrument or courtesy lights fuse.

Edit.

You did check the dimmer switch and that it is not turned to "off", did you?

If yes, you might have to check if the wiring came out at the dimmer switch.

wiring seems fine for the switch. I dont think power is going to the switch though. I dont have a volt meter, so I did the next best thing, bare wires and spark test. No sparks at all

...I did more searching on the old boards and came up with this post by you Tony:
http://www.contour.org/ubbthreads/s...d=allposts&Main=743905&Search=true#Post744474

it let me to the "work around". I tried the work around and all the lights light up. Would you suspect that the dimmer is shot? Or would this mean something else?
1. Well, actually I think I referred to that link quite a few times in the old forums.;) I was not the original poster or original reply. :o Can't take credit for that.:D

2. Yes, I suspect it could be a broken dimmer. When you get a dimmer from the junk yard, you can try it and see if it works. :)

Good luck.
