Unfortunatly it doesn't sound like a bad sensor it sounds like a bad engineer.

Actually, that gives an idea. Is the sensor mechanical (just forms a closed loop when the appropriate weight is applied)? In that case, it's easy to bypass ...
 
The problem is real easy to figure out. walk to the front of the car and look at the grille, do you se the bow tie, nuff said :laugh: .
