New rims from a...Cougar?

why not just a vinyl overlay? it's just a sticker that you'd put on. I don't really see how hard it would be to use that. it's going to be your easiest and cheapest option, and nobody will notice it's a vinyl decal.

exactly .... my SVT has SVT vynl overlays on the center caps and I had a number of people ask if they where factory wheels

I had thought of that, but I can see a flat vinyl sticker bunching up on a domed surface. The previous owner of my car put some SVT stickers over the Ford ovals and they didn't lay perfectly flat...it looked kind of tacky.

I already pm'd parkedcar, we'll see what he has to offer.

Back to the rims and exhaust note. Comments?

I have been wanting those 17's for a while for my Cougar.
I prefer the ones without the black paint in the center of the "spokes" though.
I never liked those black painted ones as much.

They look decent on the 'tour I guess, but I think they look better on Cougars.

If you go with the parkedcar vinyls, just grind the dome down flat so the stickers will stick better.

the logo peels off,its just held on w/glue. put it in some hot water on the stove, that'll soften it up. they look alright i guess, the tire being too narrow and too tall kinda takes away from the overall look though.

I think the tires/rims look great. I'm some of the others in that the domed logos have to come off somehow... I'd be looking for a donor cover if I were you just in case something goes wrong though!!

It can be done! Trust me. Vinyl will conform to almost any shape!

Can you throw the caps on the Wheels and take a picture or two. It's hard to get the idea w/o the caps

The SVT lugnuts won't allow the center caps to go on. I bought all of the shorter lugnuts that my local O'Reilley's had, so I still need to pick up one more set before I can swap the new ones on. I'll do that when I install new brake pads tonight, and I'll see about getting pictures up then.

Very nice! I really like the way those look. If you don't really want to try a vinyl overlay, then scuff the heck out of the domed part and paint them. If you're worried about making the vinyl conform, then ship them off to ParkedCar and let him mess with 'em. He's got the experience to make it happen, and make it right too.

rock the cougar centercaps and watch the confused people!

i rememeb when i still had my VW centercaps on my Fiero and the looks i got were priceless. a lot of "wtf" looks :)
