New rims from a...Cougar?

A NECO member gave me a sweet deal on these '02 Cougar rims and brand new tires. They came in the mail today and I got them mounted and balanced right away. My only problem is that the SVT lugs won't allow me to install the center caps, so I'll have to pick up some new lugs tomorrow when I pick up my brake pads from O'Reilley's (I don't want any brake dust on these!).

My only issue is what to do with the center caps. I'd like to get rid of or cover up the Cougar emblem somehow, but they're integrated into the full center cap and domed, so a domed overlay from parkedcar would be tough to use - it wouldn't really adhere properly.

I have an appointment tomorrow to get my new MagnaFlow resonator installed, and I'm getting the tips centered and moved further in the bumper tomorrow. Things are starting to really come together.

Any suggestions? Thoughs? Comments?

Tuner Lug nuts should fix the problem, if not you'll need longer studs.

Try a heat gun and a razor for the cougar logo

I would try what Loki said...I mean, you might be able to get the logos off...There is bare metal somewhere beneath those logos.

I'm sure you can get those cougar emblems off of there. they are stuck to it one way or another.

No, it's all plastic. The back of the lug cover piece is a solid piece, and I don't want to risk tearing one up.
Oh that's right I'm a huge idiot...the center cap is plastic. :troutslap:. Either way, Trey is right in that the stupid logo is stuck to it somehow. Maybe take a Dremel to it

I would ask parkedcar to make some vinyl instead of an overlay. I got Mystique centercaps for my ST200's and I covered up the mercury emblem with a 2piece vinyl that parked car made for me. The inside is SilFro and the outer edge has a chrome circle and the center says "SVT" in chrome outlined in dark blue. You can kind of see it in this pic. I just put them over the merc emblem and then sprayed a coat of clear on them. They look awesome and I've gotten many compliments on them. You should PM parkedcar and see what he can do for you!

~well i was beat to it.....

why not just a vinyl overlay? it's just a sticker that you'd put on. I don't really see how hard it would be to use that. it's going to be your easiest and cheapest option, and nobody will notice it's a vinyl decal.

it's simple i didn't even have to read past your first thread to come up with a vinyl overlay idea
