As most of you know my car was in a wreck yesterday and I'm trying to be as proactive as possible about the potential fight I'm going to have with the insurance company. I called up Steve at tousley ford and found all but two parts that I'm going to need to retore this car to what it was. The first is a bumper, but I can hopefully pick one up here. The second part I will need is a radiator.

When talking to Steve, he said the SVT radiator is no longer available. I currently have a 2000 SVT w/ a ported 3.0L.

Both Steve and I were wondering if the regular 2.5 radiator will work? Does anyone know what the differences were between the two, and if this is an option? Could there be any drawbacks?

If the regular 2.5 is not an option, what are my aftermarket options, if there are any possible?

Thanks for all the help and hopefully this car can be saved from the boneyard.

The 2.5L one will work, but keep searching for a SVT one. That extra 1" of radiator thickness will really go a long way to keep your 3L cool. Good luck with the search.

I currently have my '95 radiator cooling my ported 3L and it seems to keep up just fine.

will be fine with a stock 2.5L radiator.

as I suggested if you have an xcal you can adjust the fan turn on points to help.

Thanks for the info everyone.

I did find some interesting used parts available for our cars, that are no longer available from ford. The site is http://car-part.com/ . It is a listing of yards throughout the us and possibly canada, and you can find just about every part you could think of, even front bumpers.

Just got the car into the shop today and enterprise is coming to pick me up right now. Just gotta keep my fingers crossed on them potentially totaling the car.

Thanks again,

Kevin
