Hi everybody, I just picked up a black 98 contour sport today. 73k miles and it wont move in any gear. Before I condemn the trans is there anything else I should check first?

Thanks :help:

Auto, when i shift through the gears it doens't move. RPM'S drop in neutral but that is the only thing that happens when going through gears. Just went out and messed with it, now I can't get it back in the park selection.....

if you can't get it into park, then can you still remove the key?

I just wonder if someone messed with the shifter and didn't get it together right. I have expirence with that  but my car still drove. Here are some steps there are many more: Suggest you contact Todras for a ford cd for your tour.
