Need help with wifes car!

Replaced fuel pump, and symptoms still remain. After a little bit of time, the car starts stuttering really bad, almost to the point that is jerks very hard at times. I shut the car off, turn it right back on, and its fine for a while.

New plugs, wires, and fuel filter and pump!

After replacing the fuel pump, car ran great for about an hour and a half, then it started, and has just been getting worse. Any ideas?

Car is a 2000 SVTC!
 
No love with the tours, huh?

Check the grounding strap from the coil pack, maybe the TPS or a vacuum leak somewhere?

I am not getting much love from this SVT thats for sure, I am going to completely change the coil, I got a new IAC that needs to get changed anyways, and will check for a vacuum leak, although I would think it would have to be a huge vacuum leak!
 
Well, filled back up this morning, and appears to be normal again, but I know its only a matter of time, there is definitely something wrong with this car... besides a fuel pump(unless the one I got is defective), what else can cause fuel pump failure like issues only when the car is under 3/4 tank or very warm? Thats when it seems to be acting up!

Where did you buy the fuel pump? Its weird to me because usually fuel pumps aren't tempermental. They don't work one day and then not the next. They just stop working.

I would check the MAF sensor. Once the car warms up the air moving through the sensor is warmer and the sensor could be jacked and not able to compensate for that. WHen you shut the car off and then back on it simply resets and starts back at square one again... warms up again and same issue comes back. I would bet money its the MAF sensor.

From the description of your problem it sounds like the in tank filter screen is plugged. My car would run poorly with less than a 1/4 tank of gas. Thought it was the fuel pump, so I bought just a pump, but when I got the assembly out of the tank I noticed that the screen on the bottom of the fuel pump assembly 'can' was dirty. The 'can' holds a supply of fuel so that the pump does not starve under acceleration or during parking brake turns. If this screen does not allow enough fuel into the 'can' then you will get symptoms similar to your description.

3 ways to handle the problem,

1. keep the tank above 1/2 tank always
2. remove the screen from the bottom of the 'can'
3. install a complete fuel pump assembly
 
The only mods to the car are a trubendz borla resoanted exhaust, and my weapon-r intake kit from my SVT.

The car was acting up, and I put a brand new stock MAF on it. I also got the fuel pump from Team Ford, and i did remove the screen on the bottom...

so any other ideas?
 
Yeah, had a mechanic take a look at it, and he thinks the sock that attached to the fuel pump, since I was a moron and didnt replace it is collapsing... and after i shut the car off, it releases the pressure and allows it to expand again, only for it to continue to happen... also looks like i need a new coil!

So tonight i will tear into it again, repalce the sock, replace the coil, and see what happens!
