I just came across a cheap MTX sledgehammer box w/subs from a friend who needed money to move.

Its a SLH-T7510X2-A (http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products/enclosures/sledgeHammer7510x2a.cfm)

MTX says to use the TA7801 but thats a little expencive. I want to try to put 800 RMS into it.
Anybody know about this amp? Its probably crapy because its a DUB amp and its cheap. (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_7283.html#specs)
Would that even work? Can this box be wired as 4 ohm?

Anyone got any suggestions for quality 800rms 4 ohm - 2ohm amps for less then the TA7801 ?

Dub is made by Audiobahn. Audiobahn... well....Audiobahn sucks. Its been about a year since I said it last so I'll say it again.. Your better off taking a dump in cardboard box, chrome plating it and hooking your amplifier to it.
For cheap, I honestly want to recommend Hifonics. They have always been an awesome brand. They were bought out by Maxxsonics a few years ago. Everybody expected their quality go to down but the only thing that went down were their prices. Tons of power and features on a quality platform for very little $$. Check out the Brutus line.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

I am willing to spend anywhere under $300.
I'm going to go check out hifonics.

Any more suggestions?

I would recommend you buy a good amp over a bad amp. You should try to get an amplifier that suits your needs over an amplifier that you have no use for. Also, I recommend you buy a good value amp over a poor value amp because a poor value amp will not get a very high performance/dollar ratio i your favor.
