I need help!!! I took my 99 csvt in for a minor service and the tech sat down in the drivers seat and punctured the leather seat. They are discontinued from Ford. I really dont want some upholstery shop trying to match the one panel on the seat. Any Ideas?? It's the tan leather interior.

the shop should be the one replacing it, or at least paying to have it replaced. have you tried a JY yet? also there are a few people parting out SVTs in the classifieds that might be able to help.

Nothing available on Ebay

Im just saying, they pop up on ebay from time to time. It took me a couple months to track down a MINT prarie tan seat for my car, but there were some that popped up the classifieds here and on ebay, but they weren't to my liking.

Btw, contact Bill Jenkins. Even though the seat is discontinued, there still may be a seat located out there somewhere at a dealership.

I AGREE!! Make THE PLACE THAT WORKED ON IT FIX IT!!!!!! You shouldn't have to do anything... make them go get you a new seat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I'm all for the place that ripped the seat having to pay for it, but let's acknowledge the occasional difficulty with getting recompensed for a mechanic's screwup.

"Oh, no -- that rip was there. That's an old car. If it wasn't ripped, must have been ready to go. Next person who sat on it would have gone through it. Could have just as easily been you."

Convenient how any car built more than two years ago is old.

Hey, I'm all for giving it a shot, but with the hoops they may make you jump through, you might consider just banging it out on your own.

Buddy of mine recently suggested a tactic for getting money you're owed: Show up filthy and smelling like dog poo -- they'll want to get rid of you as soon as possible, and that probably means paying you.

Best of luck -- I'd certainly let them know that you expect to be reimbursed entirely for anything they broke.

Hopefully the tech was a really big guy, and the owner is a skinny guy, and he could be like..... right... my small ass didn't rip it.. but your fat ass did.... i don't think they were "about to go" until you sat down...

If you get to pass the bill off to the mechanic, I might have something for ya..... Do you need lower or upper coution? Let me know via PM I don't wander these threads too often.....
