no, the chrome reflector is separate from the housing. i would assume he used some sealer on the outside.

The projectors are not off a car. They are aftermarket "driving" lights. I modified the guts in order to get a wider beam. The cut off is still at the same height, but it now shines from the halfway point, down. As you can see in the one picture, the beam was very limited.
I would have brought them further forward, but being projectors, there is no reason to "invade" the housings.
I'm looking at making another set soon, fors and giggles. I'll be using Audi projectors.
I don't mind making a couple sets, but I don't know what the service would be worth to anyone. I can make them then sell them as I go, I suppose.

Yes, the gap has been filled with black adhesive in order to avoid condensation as well as to provide extra support.
Pud - With these I get the complete beam. They do stick out past the chrome housing and that allows for the full beam. With future projects I will be bringing the projectors out further to avoid the situation you described.
Dannimarieiro - As for which are better projectors for your project/needs; it all depends on price, what set-up you are looking for (HIDS/Xenon) ect. I love the versatility of the Audi's. You can use them in almost any retrofit. Plus they use readily accessible bulbs.
