Here's what I bought as a replacement for my SVT. It's an 01 Saab 9-5 Aero. I love the car, its a 5 speed with a 2.3 turbo engine and only 55,xxx miles. Here are some pics. Enjoy.

My ex-girlfriend/good friend has a 01' as well. Very nice car.. I always got a kick out of the cup holder as a passenger, ha.

I like it in black though, much better. Congrats.

I love the wheels. They set the car off really well. What's wrong with yours that it's in the shop?

what's wrong with the cupholder? i don't see anything out of place in the pic....except for the ignition being in the center console! is that for real??

I'm trying to find the cupholder too:shrug: The keys threw me off as well lol

the cup holder pops out of the dash, its that slim gray thing below the air vents....yes saabs have center console located ignitions. hehe...

my car needs a short block :(

Yep the ignition is on the center console. I still find myself going for the steering column sometimes. And I will get a pic of the cup holder out for those wondering where it is.

That sux about your car needing a short block. How many miles are on it if you don't mind me asking?

All SAABs come standard with center ignition, dont they? A friend at school had one from years ago and had that, too. I think it's cool.

Nice ride.

^ yep saabs been doing that since the 80's... lol i too find myself reachin for the column when i get in sometimes, still havn't gotten 100% used to it. i actually like having it in the center. Only 79k the previous owner was an idiot when it came to oil changes, when i got it i emidiatly did a synthetic oil change and it started smoking, but once i get the new short block the thing will be like brand new, and with as maticulous as i am with my cars and maintenance it'll run at least till 200k miles :D

too bad you live soo far, i gotta get an HID kit for it still, as my kit from the svt won't work. i have 10,000k bulbs just need the rest of the kit. I've installed the intake from Geniune Saab, and had my resanator deleted, manual boost control valve, and upgraded silicon vaccum hose return line on the bov. I'll be ordering the iFORGE bov when i get my car back. and if you mount it 'backwards' it sounds more like a whistle bov, rather then the ksshh....anyhow, it's suprisingly fast... faster then my svt, and my svt runs Haaard.... anyhow post up some new pics of yoru ride man, really like it, if you want i can show you some pics i took of my wagon (arn't great but all i got till i can get my car back and take time to take nice pics)

That sucks about the previous owner. The nice thing about mine was that it was owned by a Saab Tech, so it was well cared for. It is a shame we don't live closer, it would be a cool photo shoot. As far as mods go I think I'm just going to let mine be and just drive it. I might paint the grill black and tint the windows though. Then again I'll probably end up doing a little to it. I can only drive my cars stock for so long til the mod bug bites me. You are right the car is pretty quick. I love the power it has. Deffinitely post pics as yours comes along cause I'd love to see it's progress.

I love everything about that car except the wood-grain dash. For some reason that never hits me in the right spot. But I love the car itself, I hope you enjoy it (having a center ignition would drive me insane, I know I would never get used to it!)
