Monday me and a few buddies pulled my motor. I started around 9 am and we had the motor out of the car by 8:30 that night.

Mods the car is under the knife for:
Torsen ATB Diff
New Clutch (Original one looked real good though, oh well)
Underdrive PS/Alt pullies
New plugs/Uim/Lim rebuild
MSDS Headers
New LCA's
Probably more stuff i'm forgetting...

Anywho, enough of that, on to the pics...

And a little surprise... My car had copper plugs in it... According to the service records the original owner gave me these went in at 101k, car now has 130k. Almost 30k on Copper plugs... Not bad...

I changed a battery for my sister in El Paso and nearly soaked my tshirt yesterday. I've learned a new definition of hot since I've been on vacation. New York is not hot lol

Nice job, though. Pulling motors is fun.

Great work,

I take it, your staying with a 2.5l? Because you stated new ps/alt pullies and they were on the 2.5 :)

Just rebuilding the trans then?

I see a new tb? What size?

Yup, staying 2.5 for now. I gotta decide what my plans are for this car before I put a 3.0 or some kind of FI on it.

TB is an optimized and powdercoated SVT TB, nothing too fancy... ;)

I've got a couple 65mm TB's in the basement that I may play around with once I get everything back together and start tuning this beast.

65mm tb  Worked great after i did my true duals.

Biggest thing holding me back after these upgrades I think is gonna be the Borla...

Which absolutely sucks because I love the look/sound of the Borla...

Borla is great, why would it be holding you back?

Did you get the baffled mufflers? or are you referring to the 2 1/4 piping?

It's a true borla catback, not a trubendz borla. The 2.25" piping will likely be the bottleneck as well as the main resonator. It isn't much better than a stock SVT resonator. I'm sure the borla is worth a little bit over stock but I bet going to a Trubendz setup i'd still gain a few ponies over the true borla.

You would, but who could ever get rid of a true borla system

I couldn't.

Good luck with the install. Post some pictures maybe even a clip of the headers with the borla catback.

That's exactly why it's still on there... :D

Yea, once it's done i'll get some video clips. I wish I shot a couple quick clips before I did headers to compare though... Oh well...

andy, looks good. did it really take you guys that long to pull the motor though:confused:
port match the uim/lim,optimize the lim and install the 65mm tb. all little things i did to my car that i noticed helped.

Welcome to Texas! Where it gets hotter by 9am than most states get all day long. <-- Should be our state slogan. :D

Yea, it did take us that long. But figure in a long lunch and a few breaks to cool off in the a/c'd house because it was 90*+ and high humidity outside and my first Contour engine pull and i'm pretty happy with it. We took our time and ran into a few issues along the way so not too bad.
