This morning I replaced another injector that was causing a misfire and rich bank code. Getting harder to find injectors for this engine. Automotive Parts Network had them for $38 each plus core charge. Engine runs like new again.

A man at one of the injector refurbishing places I called said not to run too many cleaners through these units because it removes the insulation from the coil. The old one must have been leaking because at times the engine would start on the first turn of the starter. I had a car with CIS injection once that had leaky injectors. If it sat for a few minutes, it would restart quickly. Now if you let it set for a 1/2 hour or more it was hard to restart unless you floored the throttle - giving it more air, or let it set a little longer. Too much fuel in the cylinders, which was no problem with a cold engine.
The Contour started to do this.
