BTW jeff, if you dont mind I want to get under the car a little, I need to learn about major repairs so if I can learn about dropping a trans im down for helping out in its entirety.
 
Weather should be decent on Saturday for this time of year. High in the 50s and low in the 30s with some sunshine. I am just not looking forward to pulling the motor/trans from my parts car because I have to have it done by 12 noon tomorrow and it is going to be below freezing with frost in the morning tomorrow! I wish I could pull this sucker in the garage but my lift won't clear the ceiling. :( At least Grant is coming over in the morning to freeze too!

And sure Jared, we'll teach you a few things... it will just cost you a few bucks. knowlege is money. :laugh:

This is true. They only built Capaldis, not Mumms though. Either way Terry over charges big time. Save yourself the money (not speaking to anyone in particular). Don't be fooled by his fancy "upgrades", there mostly a joke, at least for what he charges. Been there paid that, and still broke....again.....

Mainly Saturday, as we are going to start pretty early so that I can wrap this up and hopefully go deer hunting in the evening. Maybe I will just hang out with you CEG punks and go cruising a little or something instead though!?! :shrug: :laugh:

Mike will be dropping off the car sometime late Friday afternoon.... 3 to 4ish or so.... and we will get that thing up on jack stands and get the motor ready to come out. We may even pull the whole thing on Friday evening and get it in the garage to start swapping the trans and possibly the clutch, etc... That way we can have it ready to drop in on Saturday so that we don't run ourselves into working too late on Saturday. I know Grant, Mike and I will be over there Friday evening, along with a few people coming to pick up/swap parts from me and Grant. So to make a long story short, the food and stuff will be going down Saturday at say Noon or 12:30, but we will be there both Fri evening and Saturday starting early. Hopefully that clears some stuff up.

And give me a call or I will shoot you my parents address right now....

Trailblazer meet... lol! I bet people laugh too when we tell them we are going to a Contour meet! I defenitly got some strange faces when people asked me what I was doing next weekend (last spring) and I told them I was going to the national meet for Ford Contours. :laugh:

No welder at my parents, but I can get ahold of one if it comes down to it. The trans is now sitting next to the parts car and awaiting install. :) I think I am going to pop the suspension and wheels back on the parts car and roll it out of the garage because I want to do this in the garage again. I found out yesterday that my engine hoist does clear the ceiling! :D And thanks go Grant for helping out yesterday!

We got a yellow lab a little over a month ago and it's already tripled its weight. We started off giving him too much human food and now he hates eating his dog food.
 
I just bought $65 worth of food! The ribs are marinating under a dry rub!
The brats are soaking in beer!

I'm going to get to Reebs by about 4:30 tomorrow. We are going to do as much work as we can that night.

Saturday we will start up again early. Food will be at lunch time!

I have enough food for around 10. Anybody that wants to help or eat food is welcome by me. PM Reebs to make sure he wants you over and to get directions.
 
just a little update guys!

I just got home from the festivities, we got about 60% done tonight, the motor is 2 mounts away from coming out, we expect to be done by 2 oclock tomorrow at the latest! so if anybody is going to show up COME EARLY! we are going to be out there at 8 am tomorrow, and Mike has some GREAT food he is preparing, this ain't no rinkie dink box of hamburgers, come on out for some great food and to watch a couple of idiots replace a trans.
 
Mike didn't show up until about 7pm! And I couldn't stay very late. He waited around all day for the tow dolley because he took the day off work to get it, finally got it at 5pm because he had to wait for the previous guy to return it, took it home, found out his car didn't fit on it, and then he said screw it and drove the darn thing over. :D If he only would drove it over hours before, silly Mike. :laugh:

I am excited for this meal Mike is preparing. I am hungry right now thinking about it!
