Manchvegas meet?

Not that anyone really cares too much, but I guess my water pump isn't any good. So basically I won't be able to make it because of my financial difficulties (I'm borrowing money from my parents!). But thanks to Greg (aircougar) for helping me out and hopefully fixing this problem this week. I'd hate to see what outrageous price my mechanic would charge! The pump is only $50 at Advance and the gasket it $11...I hope you guys all have fun Saturday even though I'm not going to be there to brighten your day  .

if you haven't done the timing belt recently I would do it also .... it has to come out anyway for the waterpump to be replaced

The pump is only $50? Wow ... another nice thing about the Zetec!

Sorry to see you can't make it, was hoping to meet you .. but definitely the repairs / finances is the first priority. Good luck!

ACTUALLY, my timing belt is in excellent shape! And I'm rather sure it's original as well! It's rather surprising to me because I'm not exactly the "light foot" type of driver, hehe. I put a bit of strain on that engine :p. I do appreciate the concern, but obviously due to financial burdens (even though it is kinda cheap) I couldn't afford to change it now.

Rouar: Don't worry you'll meet me someday. When my life doesn't suck I'll go to way more meets

how many miles on the engine? at 104k when I changed my timing belt the belt was in great shape also. what wasn't in great shape was the pullies. All had the edges work down flat ... new they have a slight V shape to them. Also my tensioner was about to split in half  , only the very outside of the pulley was still intact. The center had a crack running straight across the pulley.

So it may cost you a little bit more now but not getting stuck in the future or needing a tow and having the timing belt changed will cost more, ihmo

Hey Matty. Hey Everyone.

Unfortunately, Jason and I are going to have to bag out on the Manchvegas meet/helping Matty move thing this weekend. We are going to Tennessee….

We just found out last night that Jason's grandmother (our only remaining grandparent between the two of us) started chemo the other day, after having turned 80 years old over the weekend. She has been having various lumps of cancer found all over her body for the past few months (first in the neck/ throat, now in her lung and stomach). Despite being told that it’s very curable and will be just fine (not really sure if it’s being sugar-coated by the doctors, or by her, or by Jason’s father who is our source of news), it just doesn't sound good at all to us, you know? Long story short, we don't get to see her much at all because she's in Tennessee and she doesn't fly. I'll spare you the long story re: past regrets with other grandparents, etc. Basically, since there are going to be other people down there visiting her this weekend, we are taking the opportunity, as well, before it’s….too late.

So, we are sorry that we can’t hang out this weekend. Matty, we owe you one.

-Robin (& Jason)

Oh no! I hope the trip finds you safe and well, and pray you can get some good conversations with her this weekend. :(

Grab some history from her if you want some good stories. I've been talking to my grandparents about the 20s and 30s and it's fascinating coming from people who have actually been there.

You owe me nothing, in fact I owe you partial payment for the hotel still.

Best wishes to your grandmother.
:bah: cancer

i could handle that.

did you guys plan on buying the movie all along?
if not and you want to save your money i can bring my copy.

We were going to buy it anyway.
But if for some dumb reason we can't get a copy, then we'll borrow yours until we get ours.

Omgggg 300! You know what sucks about all this? I'd totally be able to go if I hadn't picked up a shift for Saturday night...I ended up borrowing money from my parents to afford the WP replacement (omg thanks Greg! lifetime warranty on the pump as well!), leaving me with plenty of cash to pay for the gas to get up to NH. I hate life :D. So once again work is the culprit...

And I totally wanted to show off my exhaust to you guys, it's gotten so much louder  LOL! And it'd be especially loud after the long trip cuz it gets louder as it gets hotter hehe :D.

HAHAH. Do you recall that my flex pipe is horribly broken? Regardless, I think that would be so sick, LOL. My car is such a tank with the exhaust :p

edit: I was trying to make a funnays before :D. I personally think my exhaust is comical!

Kim, I'm so glad you offered your place for the evening.

A meet at my new apartment would be rather a drag ... electricity won't be turned on till Monday, and as of this evening all of my living room seating is sold off. So we could, I dunno, play cards on the kitchen table or something until it got dark out. Or hang out at your house :)

Dinner is on me for those who can help out in Manchester. I can't wait to show off the new place!

The weather calls for scattered thunderstorms. We'll have to watch the radar, I don't want to transport the mattresses/etc in rain of course. The time we get up to Manchester will depend on the weather ... though hopefully it will be clear skies and we'll be up there before 3 :)
