who makes lightweight wheels? i dont know many so clue me in please. my friend suggested rota slipstream's. they have 17x 7.5's at a 4x 108mm bolt pattern but the offset im not sure about.

centerline makes lightweight forged wheels, and they are priced fairly cheap. Rota's are light, but they are knock offs and their quality is questionable. I haven't found a shop in the Tampa area willing to sell Rota's because they all believe they are of inferior quality.

The only stipulation is that you cannot get my wheels. No centerline storms for you!

I was gonna go with the Centerline Excel, but they dont make the Pearl Black in 18", otherwise the wheels are pretty nice, I ended up buying 18" KEI Pulse wheels from Europe and they are only 19lbs. Not bad for cast aluminum and theyre are made specifically to show off big pretty brakes. Hehe

 I'm running 235/40-17 with no rubbing. Were you running the 225/45-17 truck tires :)

Lol, its possible. I dont know, I think you and I discussed this before. I had kumho 712s (junk) it might just be because of the tires height.

Ive got 235/40/17 RS2's waiting... just too bad I sold the ATS'

hehe I thought I was feeling some deja vu. I'm actually not sure what the offset is, but I think the clearance is pretty good -- larger tire <-> strut gap than I had with 225/50-16 on E1 rims.

does anyone happen to know how much my FSVT wheels weight? i know they are much lighter than the euros i had

21lbs if i recall correctly.

I love my rs5's in 18's light wheels. Tricker i will be getting rid of those soon. 200 miles on rims and tires.

Pm me if you are interested.

Might be selling my car........

Anything in 18's will weigh no less than 18 lbs and the most will be 30.
my 18's rs5's are 21 lbs. :)

My tire to strut gap was phenomenal, it was my tire to fender / fender liner up front that didnt agree with me!

I have rota slipstreams that I run 225/50/16 victoracers on. They did rub in the rear with roush springs but I pretty much fixed that. They and my regular 17"s will still rub if I load the car down with fatties I pick up at the bar.
They were the cheapest option I could find. I would not use them just cruising around, well, just because they're rotas and they're not very cool on a Contour.
And their quality is fine. They are knock offs but they're just as good if not better than many other wheels that fit into the affordable category. Many people I know have or have had rotas at some time and never have they had a problem with them. Eventually though they save the money up for real wheels.

If you're wanting a nice looking wheel and you're not into having two sets of wheels/tires just save up for centerlines, OZs, or some other higher end wheel.

If you get rotas u gotta paint em yeller. Makes it go faster.

Really, i went online and looked threw for over a 1 year now. The least i found were some rims that weigh'd in around 15 lbs in18's but they wanted 2300 for all 4.

But tricker si looking for something affordable.

I know u goturs for 100 dollars LMAO.

What type aret here and how much are they brand new?

Im pretty sure you can buy some nice 18" wheels that weigh under 18lbs easily from HRE wheels. I saw a nice pair on their website that I wanted and they sent me a quote for them. Only 4000 for the set.....
