Let the fitment begin

And Mani, on my coilovers, I have about a finger width of room. I'll recheck

So there's really no problem with fitment on the inside of wheel then, so no need for spacers.

I like the wheels a lot. I'm very interested in seeing the end result.

Pleased.

Rexx- looks like you got 20mm-30mm to work with. THAT should be fun! Any plans?

The same companies that make the after market wheels for the mustangs (ie Cobra R Wheel) also made rep wheels for the contour/t bird/fox body mustang in the late 90's. I infact own a 16 x 7, 4 x 108 set with low offset. I specifically remember them marketing a high offset for front wheel drive cars.

The plan is as follows

I'll be using my current tires Nankang NSIs 205/40s. I'll need the clearance of that stretch if I wanna tuck them. The front fenders have been rolled previously and hopefully I won't have to pull them. I've also been considering throwing the front camber kit on (or getting a new one entirely) if I wanna reduce the poke some. But since I don't have the tires on, nor have I had the car fully set down and settled on it's own weight, I won't be able to see how much the wheel will be brought in up top (as I only have an idea, which is slightly more cambered than the picture in my OP). The rears will be getting pulled slightly to moderately. I want some poke to it, but if I can pull the wheel in and be almost flush, then I'll pull it lol If I remember correctly, my rear specs for camber are just over -2* naturally.

All this is plan on paper, and it's pretty close to what it should be. But I won't know entirely until it's in action.

Well Mikey all I can say is good luck with this project. I wouldn't personally do this to my car because of it being a dd plus it's not really me. I do think some cars look good with this type of fitment. The whole poking out thing takes me back to the late 80's early 90's.....yes I am old I know this lol.

That all sounds pretty good. IIRC the back will need less work as the body is a little bit wider there. Kinda an optical illusion because the fenders are so vertical. Im worried that you might be stuck poking the front, because your stuck with camber in the back. It will look goofy with the front more cambered then the rear.

I followed a guy in a honda that had wheels sticking out. Looks goofy to the over 40 crowd. Water was spraying up all over from the uncovered part of the tires. You could see the driver and passenger bouncing all over the place even on small bumps. Looks like the rims were bent from the pounding those little tires transferred. Guess that is why people don't do this...

TourEnvy, it doesn't bother me that the front would be more cambered than the rear. It'll be minimal, for sure. But that's if I decide to throw the camber kit up front again. We will see after I have it all on the ground. First thing is getting the rear clearance taken care of from the fender. And then I'll worry about cleaning it all up

Haters gonna hate. Add some decent camber all the way around no matter how difficult it is, it will look epic.

I've determined that if I wanna camber the back in some more, I'm gonna use my spare rear mounts and fill and redrill to add another -1* or so for the rear.

Here's the rear. As mentioned by TourEnvy, the fender is a bit wider in appearance which gives it better clearance off the bat (besides the lip that needs rolling). I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. Also, Mani, if you check it out, I took a measuring tape to show you the inside. Can stick another 1/2" or so ;]

I've had that website in my information for years now. It helps. The 8.25 will hit the shock body is what I'm saying.

Josh, isn't that what you just did?

well i guess i gotta measure the distence from the stock to the rim.
but theres a guy on neco who posted 18x9.5 et35 in the rear. and 18x8.5 et 35 in the front. he didnt say thingthing about rubbing. but it seems like his offset would be closer to 25ish. they are xxr 006 rims
