i have noticed lately that my passenger side floorboard by the seat is wet & under the car there is a puddle. i noticed that on the bottom of the car on the chassis where it drips from it almost looks like a little plug or something but it doesnt come out. y would i be getting water in here & where would it be coming from

k well i wont be able to get out there till tomarrow. but if by chance there is water in there what can i do to stop it from continuing to happen. & would that leak down by the passenger seat. cuz its only wet in front of the hump under the seat. not up under the dash or anywhere else

check your door seals. i have one that gets loose ever once in awhile and it'll let water in if i go through the car wash.

ya ill check them, but i havent gone thru any car washes. hell i havent washed my car since last summer. but even if my car sits in the driveway for a day or to ill notice water on the ground. like theres water stored in the chassis or something. but ill give it a look over in the morning & let u know if i can find anything.

sounds like its time for a new door seal. I had to replace the drivers side rear door one as the floor would be wet after it rained.

At least our cars are not like Saturn Ions. If the sunroof drain gets plugged it leaks into the A-pillar area and can get to the door switch in the dash and short it out. Its not fun figuring out why the alarm is going off at 1:30 am in a downpour.

My passenger floor pan leaked too when I bought my car. Turned out the cabin air filter housing has a foam gasket around it where it seals to the firewall. The gasket was maybe a half inch thick in an inch wide channel and is extremely inadequate. Went to lowes and found some window weatherstripping (1" wide by 3/4" tall I think) black foam with an adhesive backing. Put that where the old gasket was and problem solved. No more swampy carpet. I only find that if my car is parked at an angle on a street the lower door seals leak towards the inside of the car. My best bet is your cabin air filter thing is leaking.

Had this problem, yesterday I took the whole wiper cowl off, and took out the cabin filter. Poured a cup of water over the housing, sure enough niagra falls on the inside. took out the filter housing, and found the gasket corner was gone. I went to menards and bought a $2 roll of foam weatherstrip, sticky on one side. I found it near the winow/door section. I made a new gasket (you need to remove backer as you go along or it wont bend for corners) on the back of the housing, then overlapped with another layer, putting the seam in the opposing corner. I probably didn't need to overlap, but I figured it couldn't hurt in case things expand/contract. Bolted it back down, poured water over it again, all down the sides and out the corners to under the car, inside the housing was dry. Not a bad fix for $2!
