I am considering either of these subs in 12" dual 2 ohm, wired down to 1 ohm to a Crunch P1500.1 (750rms @ 1ohm). The box is a 1.2cu ft sealed. I'm looking to stay under $200. The RE is rated at 600rms but there have been claims it has withheld 900rms, but no box/application specs were listed. I was originally considering the RE but got a Power Acoustik P2 which I blew up. . The Kicker is rated at 750rms. I have read alot of good reviews about either sub but I am leaning towards the Kicker. Thoughts?

SE's will take 900rms in any box daily. I have 2 SR"s and im running 1300rms on the pair... there 300wrms subs.... RE's can handle much more then rated if its clean power. the CVX's are good subs but the SE will overall sound better. in that small of a box you wont have any low end though. at the bare minimum do atleast 2 cubes sealed.

Looks like I will be going with a Kicker Solo Classic. According to the local authorized dealers, the RE SE and Comp VX aren't reccommended in sealed enclosures where the SC is.

I have been running the same pair of kicker 10's for the past 10 years in 3 different cars. I love them, if they ever blow I'll get another kicker product in a heartbeat!!!

Damn 10 years is alot when you figure in Ohios crappy climate. What model are they?

Bottom of the barrel impulses in a sealed box, the subs face each other at a 45 degree angle. I first ran them off a majestic 250w amp now they powered by an old school soundstream reference 405 that's been rebuilt by soundstream.

Excellent sub!

Excellent sub!

I got it wired up a few days ago. I haven't had internet as I have been in the process of moving. I'll post a pic tomorrow. The sub is a Kicker Solo Classic Dual 2 ohm, wired to 1 ohm sealed in 1.2 cu ft getting 750rms although it's only rated for 600rms. I really thought the amp would be getting a workout at 1 ohm but it runs no hotter than at 2 ohms. I have the gain set around 11oclock, same with bass boost. I have had the volume all the way up and it has withheld, sounding clear as day. After about 5mins of high volume it starts to smell how my old one did after I blew the voice coils so I think I will back the bass boost off cuz its only at 45hz anyway. My system sounds clear as ???? now! This is an SQ style sub but it pushes a good amount of pressure with the right song. At 75% volume for 5-10mins my ears ring for hours haha.

It goes from 6v at 8 oclock to .2v at 4 oclock so I should be close to the 2.5v I am shooting for.
