Ok i'm in the market for a new intake, but I was wondering besides the cost what the biggest difference between a K&N Filter + MAF adapter and an "intake induction kit". Is there that much performance difference between the two to justify the cost difference? I've searched both old forums and this one and couldn't really find an answer. If anyone can help me out i'll appreciate it.

id say the only difference is the intake pipe. that replaces the black rubber one. a new one is not needed but many people replace it for looks. mine gave me more flexibility of installation. every car is different though.

so is it only looks or is there a big performance difference?

Depends on the intake: for example SPmotorsports is jet-hot coated. wich deflects most of the heat.... but an ebay intake is mostly for looks, i personally think that the ebay intake tubes flow better than the accordian rubber stock intake... but as for the filters... cheap filters are most times made of cheap material and dont flow as much air as a K&N (or any other name brand) im most cases.

so my advice would be buy the ebay intake, but fork out the extra cash for a good air filter
