Just when you thought stainless steel headers were gone forever...

Just for grins, I contacted Racebits, this is the reply:

We have send a few units over to the US and had no complaints.
This is based upon the UK ST200 which engine and exhaust is all the same as your equivalent SVT.

So the Headers will be an exact swap, matching the Y-pipe to your exhaust might have different flanges but that will be the worst case scenario.

We made these as we work with a lot of Mondeo forums in the UK, and the American version MSDS were wanted by everyone (here in UK) but cost was way to much. So we worked with members and a lot of companies and designed these in stainless unlike competitor's mild steel. Gains have been good especially mid/top end.

The shipping to USA is £59.99

Hope this helps, feel free to contact me again.

NB: these are only on special offer for a short time longer at this price.

Current price with shipping works out to 259.98 GBP, or $416.15 USD, not bad.

I'm willing to contact them about a group purchase, don't know how much they'll budge on price, because it's already discounted, but shipping might get better if several sets were ordered. I'd be willing to receive the sets, break them up a reship them once they arrive in the US.

What's the interest level? Should I start a gauging interest thread in GP?

Just stumbled across this. You can't go wrong with Shaun's gear. It certainly resembles the MSDS headers but in stainless steel. I only have the Y-pipe so far but it's really very nice! Much better than the funny-bent MSDS version.

Our Mondeo V6 engine is very much like yours. Your SVT got shorter gearing for better 0-60 but otherwise it seems almost identical (one less O2 sensor, for example, on ours).

Hey Gary I'd be interested if you are they seem like a good price for what you're getting.

I like where this is heading ;) Just for a point of reference my WeaponR header and y-pipe setup cost me $317 shipped new... so for an improved design the pricing that has been mentioned is right on par in my opinion.

Plus if you guys went to their website they also offer a stainless cat delete pipe. However it looks as if it has a wicked bend at the end, so it most likely will not work with our cat back.

I have an email into Shaun asking about multiple purchases and shipping, I don't expect an answer until Monday, will update when I know more.

OK, after some emails back and forth with Shaun at Racebits, here's what we've come up with.

1. The current price is £199.99, which is a 33% discount from the normal price of £300.
£199.99 is $319.97 as of today's (Jan 25, 2011) exchange rates.
This is a limited time discount, I don't know how long Racebits will run it.

2. Shaun says he can go as low as £189.99 for Contour.org purchases, which is $303.96 (Jan 25, 2011).

3. Shipping to the USA is £59.99, or $95.89 (Jan 25, 2011).

This puts an all Stainless header and y-pipe right at $400 SHIPPED, I don't think it gets much better than that.

Normally, I would agree to proctor a Group Purchase, collect funds, arrange for re-shipping the headers when they get here. etc, but there's no cost advantage to shipping in bulk and having me re-ship the stuff when it gets here. Additionally, due to the expense of this thing, I don't want to get in the middle of collecting funds, dealing with the currency conversion issues, answering vitriolic posts wondering "Where's my damn stuff?", etc.

Shaun at Racebits is willing to take orders from their online store and arrange for shipping to the United States on a one-by-one basis, and if you contact him by email and tell him you're from Contour.org, I believe he will honor the £189.99 + ship price.

I'm going to place a tickler post in the Group Buy sub-forum just to let folks know about this, then I'm going to place my order and call it good.

Gary M.

Hi guys; just a heads up.

I remember reading a comment Blackcoog made. I'm sure he said that the weapon R headers had a smaller tubing size... so he went back to MSDS. Has anyone measured the tubing on these new headers ? Afterall: it's go not show, that we're after .... G.
