joining the club.......

i ran the car last night, but i didnt have a coolant res on it so it spit antifreeze once it warmed up and i had to stop..... plus the whole time i didnt have a clamp on the pipe coming up to the TB side, so it probably wasnt boosting. the wideband read 12:1 at WOT so i'm guessing it wasnt boosting. i didnt notice a real gain in power, i've got to hook up the blowoff valve today, and check for leaks, and get a filter on it. after all that i can see no reason it shouldnt run well. i'll get pics up but i got pissed off when the antifreeze went all over (hit the headers and smoked, i thought i blew a head gasket, white smoke everywhere) so i had to take a break and go hang with some friends. so me and CSVT49 are gonna play with it today, and put my buddys greddy turbo kit on his right hand drive civic (pics later tonight, or sunday morning)
 
yeah i've got to get this thing dialed in. the MAF being right up on the TB isnt working well. at WOT it goes to 9:1 AFR and it wont change with the safc even when i took 15% away. i will move the maf soon enough. csvt49 came over and helped me out, he found the little vacum hose on the top of the EGR deal was broken so that was my idling issue. right now i just need to get a coolant reservoir too, it's boiling the antifreeze (probably the wrong pressure, with the super tiny arse reservoir i rigged up) and get it to make some power. right now i cant even see that there's any power increase, i dont know. i might just be burning off too much boost with the FMIC and all the piping, i'll have to get a bigger pulley, but tonight i might just straight pipe where the intercooler is just to see if there's more power gained from that. oh and i got the blowoff valve on :) nice woosh, nothing too nasty :)
 
updated bearings and a rebalance of the shaft is going to be done this week, and i should have it back by about a week after that. it should prove to be reliable after that :)

there's nothing to post, i didnt get pics of the kit on the car. now it's in the mail getting new bearings installed. the piping is back in my room. the intercooler isnt going back on the car, it's too restrictive. if you want pics, look at BLACKCOOG'S cardomain. i bought his kit. it looks the same. i'll post up a whole video when i get the blower back and make a couple passes.

How was the intercooler too restrictive?
 
You should have rode in his car... my car was faster then his and I'll I'm running is, well look at my sig. He wasn't getting any power boost from the charger. All of the piping and the intercooler was just taking up to much of the boost.
 
He posted above that he made it SIX miles before blowing the bearing, actually!

So, he lasted 600 PERCENT longer than you thought! So HA! :D :D :D
