It seemed like a good idea...

I'm thinking skull and crossbones on the hood.

I also decided on the color! (ignore the brand name of it) John Deere Blitz Black.

Here's the JDBB...and for less than $30 a gallon I think it's an amazing choice. It's not flat like I wanted...but it'll give me the same look as the "Death Proof" car that Kurt Russel drove.

How is the sanding/stripping coming along?
When will you start to paint?

So Home Depot out here only carries as low as 60 grit for the Hook & Sand style pads. Lowes however, carries 40 grit on the 5". So I guess I can just see if one of the 60's does what I want...if not I'll just throw in one of my 100 grits and bring it back. to get the 40 grit from Lowes. Hopefully I won't have to though.

Today, the Jeep found a new home for me to work on it. I'm sick of hearing :censored::censored::censored::censored: from my mother about it sitting while I work on it. So, I drove it a mere two miles with no lights of any kind to a friends house that has a huge garage bay on the backside of the house built into the basement. I think I'll be pretty well set now without hearing any bull:censored::censored::censored::censored:.

"Welp."

I found out why the bedliner turned out like horse :censored::censored::censored::censored: the first time around. I did it on a 90 degree day in direct sunlight.

I found out sanding it down wasn't plausible right now since I don't have 2 weeks to devote to it...so I bit the bullet and spent another $71 on 1 gallon of the same crap I used.

With it being in the shade on a 70ish degree day it went on 3000 times better. The finish seems MUCH more uniform than the first try. It's still a little rough...but it's not bad at all. It's probably as good as it'll get considering it's a roll-on application. I have a few plastic pieces left to do, but it should be done by Monday or Tuesday.

I decided that I need to go over the truck with maybe 100 grit BY HAND (the sander would ground out some spots on me) to get the really rigid specs out. Then probably rattle can some flat black over it.

The hood came out the best, and that big blotch is actually dirt or wiper fluid.
