My car was sold to me with what I'm told is a Magnaflow Y pipe. It might be a BAT or some other brand I don't know for sure. It is catless but where the pipes merge it isn't so much a "Y" as a catalytic converter looking thing that has 2 ins and 1 out. It isn't actually a catalytic converter but you get what I'm saying. I'm thinking that this can't be good for flow but who knows. I have to put my stock Y back in for inspection and if its a better idea to just leave it in and optimize it then that's the route I'd like to go. I'm sure I can just take the catalytic part of it to a shop and have them fab up something while I wait.
And yes I will be getting MSDS headers at some point, I just have to convince myself that it won't be total torture to install them.
