Is my alternator bad?

Well I got the fogs working (bulbs were both dead even though the filament looked fine.

But now the replacement mega fuse blew. And the car never really ran for more than 20 seconds.

Now the car won't even run off the battery, even with a jump. It will start and run if I give it some throttle but won't idle, just shuts off.

*maybe* the mega fuse blew the first time i started it, before I replaced the fogs. I seriously doubt that the fogs being burnt out would have ANYTHING to do with it but now that the fogs are working I should put in another mega fuse and try?

If anyone has some advice in the next 30 min before I head out to the store for parts, please let me know!

The alternator side of the mega fuse is shorting to ground. FINALLY I at least found something truly wrong to start looking at.

Problem solved. the main positive wire off the alternator was shorting against the alternator casing.
