interchangeable parts

Hey Guys;

i've just bought a 3.0L shortblock. It has no crank or con rods... just cylinder block, ladderblock and pistons.

Can I use my 2.5L crank and con rods with the 3.0L pistons ?

Not sure to be honest. However I don't see why not as they both have the same stroke, but that said if I were you I would have the rotating assembly re-balanced for the 3.0L pistons. It may not be far off, but I would still do it.

my first impression was that it would work .... but you experienced guys would have the hands on knowledge that counts.

At the moment, i'm just boxing up the major parts to clear the decks now that my tranny is ready to go back in the car. .... i fully understand the need for balancing of the rotating assembly. ..... G.
