I just bought a K&N intake that has the tubing that goes into the fender. Not sure who makes it because i bought it used but i was looking for either directions on how to put it together or pics any help will be great. Thanks

its most likely the custom cougars intake. i bought one from them. you have to just drill a hole in the fender. you'll have to move the battery and fuse box to make it fit in there. recommended that you relocate the battery :)

I believe that is what it is but i was looking more fore directions on how each piece of tubing and all the knick knacks that come with it go together. I don't want to put it together wrong

heres mine, it may look different due to the bypass valve that I have on..def. recommend it..thought these pics might sorta help ya..what K&N filter did you get?

Yea, i was looking for one of those Custom Cougar CAI extensions, and was wondering how it fit in the space provided in my 2001 cougar duratec v6. The pictures help, but i was wondering once you move the battery, what do you do with the power distribution box. It sits in the way right near the fender, so would you have to move that to??

Goonz SVT why did you decide to go for the CAI insted of the RAI? Just wondering because I figured on a CSVT you'd want to go with the RAI for the low end Trq, cause I always thought the CAI is known to give you more of the top end HP... again just wondering :ponder:

i do believe that the standard CEG Ru3550 with MAf adaptor was to loud for Goonz so he went with the CAI instead ...

Mostly had to do with sound as Brian stated. It was fun having ram-air and hearing that amazing sound, but it got really annoying after a while cause that was all I ever heard. At that point I had a Borla and I could barely hear that as well. I got the CAI and then did some more modifications to it as you saw with the bypass valve and the custom K&N filter and not the cheapo bomz filter they provided. In the end I now have a more subtle intake then when I truely get on in, you can really hear it in the high end torque and definetly feel it as well. It is also unique, not alot of people have so it makes it stick out more i guess

Now with headers and etc, my exhaust is loud but its good loud and it jives with the intake.

Just keep in mind water splashing on the intake filter in that postion could destroy your engine. The bypass valves work to a degree when a major restiction is realized, but just small amounts of water can cause hydolocking

You have to go through a serious puddle in which part of you front end is submerged to get water in there. Having a splash shield really helps because it block the bottom part of the filter being exposed to open elements. Ive driven in ridiculous crazy storms and blizzards and so far ::knock on wood:: its been flawless. You just have to be careful
