can anyone give me the dimensions for that pipe and the couplings you guys buy to replace the accordian tube? Including the vacuum ports on the side. My little brother owes me so I figured I would have him weld one or two up, then I just need to order the couplings... unless you guys have another source to get them cheap. I keep seeing those intake kits on e-bay but IDK if I trust buying from them. Plus their shipping is more than the cost of their kits, and I cant understand how they are getting filters and couplings cheap enough to sell those pipes for those prices, even if you consider the shipping cost as part of the price.

If it helps anyone out I could ask him the price he would want to weld up some for other people.

I didnt realize they were actually still available. But honestly you could make them for a lot cheaper than that. Also, I cant tell from that, but can you get the couplers in different colors than blue, or would I have to go spend some extra money on couplers in the right color? It just seems like a pain to me, so I thought someone might have known off the top of their head what diameter of pipe, couplers, and vaccum ports I needed to use. I suppose I can just pull my accordian tube off and measure it if I can find my caliper... oh well thanks anyways

idk, maybe, but my problem is that even when people do offer different color couplers, they generally only offer them in red blue and black. That means I gotta go to silhose.com or sporthoses.com and order green.... That is if they ever get back to me about getting a samco kit. Plus if I just tell my brother to weld me up a pipe it doesnt cost me a thing for the pipe, only for the couplers and clamps and a little black high temp paint.

yeha.... i doubt BAT carries green, even if they carry any other color options. you were saying that your bro was going to make one? buy the BAT and make a clone. get rid of the extra outlet thing that you have to plug. sell it cheaper and unfinished. i would be interested in one a little cheaper and unfinished. that way i can powercoat it or paint it or something. from what i have read the BAT is one of the best short ram intakes. so a cheaper clone might be a decent idea:shrug:

My brother is a very good welder and one of the most certified in the state, he is trying to start his own business, but doesnt have enough business yet to really quit his regular job. But anyways, anything that he can produce easily and sell he is all over, so yeah, that was my point, I figured I'll have him weld me up one and if anyone else wants one I will ask him what he wants for em, then they can do whatever they want from there. If I can find new front glass for my oven I would even powdercoat since they are small parts, but then again, I dont really want to step on the toes of the other powdercoaters on here.

well, if you are offering a product(in this case, an inlet tube) and you give the option of finished or unfinished you wouldnt really be stepping on the toes of any powdercoater. in this case, you would just be offering powdercoat on the specific product you are selling. youre not taking in parts just to powdercoat them. if you offer it with the option of powdercoat they can buy it unfinished and give it to another powdercoater if they desire.

just my 2 cents

getting ahead of things anyways, I gotta buy new glass for my oven, since I crushed the front glass when I was moving. I never bothered replacing it since the place I am in now uses gas and its an electric oven. Plus I havent had a part made yet. But... anything I want fabricated is fine now that I live only 45 minutes away from him instead of 5 hours when I was in north dakota. Probably will have him make me up some Strut tower bars, I cant think of anything else worthwhile right now, although he is trying to get a loan for a CNC plasma cutter so maybe some other things will come up. Instrument cluster surround or stuff like that. Whenever I get the time.

IDK, just some little things, still deciding whether I will do a 3 liter swap this summer, but I really am not sure if I want to pull the engine from a good runner to put a 3 liter in when I dont have any spare vehicles right now. I figured I would collect some parts in the meantime for now. Still looking for a throttle body. If I was really motivated I would buy a dead contour and have him weld me up a tube suspension.

My only definate project for this year is I gotta put on some new struts and springs, and I am gonna try my hand at some morette replicas

thats what I was planning on. My rear sags right now more than an inch anyways, and my front is starting to get a little springy. As stiff as my rear is I dont need my front any more loose. Unless I can get eibachs for a good price. Anyways, not to concerned about it, no money for a couple weeks.

no I dont know the stock height All I know is that my tires are less than an inch away from the top of the wheel well opening. I can tell you there is at least 2 inches more clearance on my front wheels. My rear springs are broken
