Ok well I went to buy my indash dvd player today at Best buy. When I asked the guy what there was to install he said it was pretty basic but that there is a ground cable that MUST be grounded to your e-brake, and that the DVD functions will not work unless you have this grounded here and the brake is on? Is this b.s. or not? I'm trying install this myself so I want it to be operational when I'm driving, whether illegal or not. Can this be done?

Yes, some DVD players are like that. To overcome this, ground the brake elsewhere. Some info here in this link.

Sometimes some dvd players have whats called a e brake sequence. When the emergency brake has to be applied for 5 seconds then taken off for 3 then put back on for 5 seconds. I just wired a troggle switch to the ground wire to act as the e brake.

Work's fine for me. I hope this helped a little. I have a jensen DVD player!

yeah def this helps...thanks guys. I actually also found some info on the old forums too
