I was going to flush the radiator on my 99 SVT and change my fuel pump at the same time.

I tried to emply the radiator by unscrewing something it did not exactly work. the plug was on the passengers side of the radiator at the bottom. when i unscrewed the nut there was a hiss and cold green liquid hissed out (so i assume it was pressurized). there still is a green inverse torx (which is threaded and is what the nut was on) in the radiator. i opened my coolant resevoir which is luke warm.... what did i do wrong?

will post pics in a sec, i can be reached at 312-375-8485

Thats not your radiator, thats the AC condensor. you just released all the pressure from your AC system and it will have to be taken to a shop to be recharged.

The radiator is the one closest to the engine and has the large black rubber hoses going to it.

LMAO... you all just summed it up pretty well!!:blackeye:

I did manage after all to install the new water pump.... but next time i'll get :help: before i do something like that!

Thanks striker2, i'm glad to know that i did not "damage" anything..... but what i still do not know, is where the :censored::censored::censored::censored: the drain plug for the radiator is....

Hope your AC didnt work anyways, cause thats how mine is!
actually to add to the pwnage, the previous owner told me that he had just recharged it :(

The petcock is on the passenger side of the radiator. It is on the lower corner. Should be a black "+" sign looking plug. Unscrew it and make sure to keep your coolant tank cap on until you're out from under there.

and remember, the screw DOES NOT come fully out, it has a saftey on it...or at least mine does.

to add to this, this screw is plastic as well.

Did you release all the pressure from the A/C system? If not, you can just top it off with one of those gauge/can refrigerant combos, for like $11 from Walmart.

I got a kit from the part store and topped off my wifes cougar cause it wasnt blowing as cold as it used to. checked it and it was low as i thought and it works just fine now. Blows colder than ever. Most of us dont have the money to get A/C work done. Usually costs a ton for anything related to it.
