So there's nothing grand or fantastic about my contour...other than the fact that she's MINE and I MISS HER!!!!

Still back at home, waiting to find out what the heck is wrong with her, while I drive around a gas-guzzling chevy...

This photo isn't anything special, other than the fact it's the last photo I took of her, and it's the last time I saw her...December.

And I know that it's JUST a car, but that car was my first real piece of responsibility, and I took such good care of her, and was so proud of her!

1998 SE, Auto Tranny, no mods...just a lot of love put into her. Thanks to all of you who posted in the trouble-shooting section of the forum to help me out..I look forward to getting back home and trying out the plausible suggestions!

And yes, she's very dirty in the photo. She'd been on the highway for 10 hours.

You make me wanna cry....:::sniffle::: :(

me too :(

I wonder where my ole' Conty is right now. :ponder:

Nobody I know has seen it since I sold it. Appearantly the guy that bought it said he lived in town.

I feel for you man! I have been without my svt since july(stupid shiftertower bolt),I miss the driving experince and exctiment that the contour offers you.I hope everything works out for in the end...good luck

Miss mine too! Don't so much miss the odd problems that kept happening. Wish I could go back to 2001 when it had 24K miles and was in brand new condition.

If you have the time...some cheap mods might spruce the outside up (pending you fixed her insides) like wetsanding your lights, and detaling it as well...sorry you have to drive around the bowtie for a while.

Hope she gets all fixed up and running good soon.
You gotta drive a chevy? :( j/k
Just wait until you get back home, give Bessie a good wash and drive her again, you'll realize just how much you missed her.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks man! I have my fingers crossed. 6 weeks until the semester is over and I get to continue the diagnostics in person!

I've been wanting to do something to her for years now, but I've been a university student since I got her. Tuition...car...tuition...car....every time the tuition won, but I have one hell of a good job lined up for when I graduate, and have a feeling that Bessie will get the complete overhaul when I get the first paycheck!

I can't wait :)

But too bad she just loves the gas. I actually posted on a Chevy Blazer forum to see what I could do to improve gas mileage, it's gotten pretty bad over the years.

I miss the amazing gas consumption of the contour, and I KNOW how much i miss her!!!

Pffff.....I'm guessing you're getting high-teens for mileage. I just ran to Houston and back in my C3500 to pick up a Contour. 13.8 mpg down empty, 12 back loaded. Unless there's something seriously wrong with your Blazer, I bet your getting better than that!!

Well, being a Canuck...I'll have to do a little math... the trip I usually make is 631 km...which is about 391 miles. I have to fill up in the middle of the trip, because the range sensor claims that I'm juuuussst missing the mark for gas to get where I need to go. I have yet to test the thing properly, but in the city it sucks. The last tank of gas I used, I only got 107 miles out of the thing. Pathetic, but I also have to keep in mind that I let it warm up quite a bit, and that I use 4x4 a lot. As it stands, on my way home today, the sensor said that I get 16.6 miles to the gallon, but I'm not sure if I believe that....
