Was driving to 7 springs and traffic was stopped. Tried to stop but I was going to hit the person in front of me... So i swerved off the road and right onto one of those cement drain pipe things. only 2 wheels were on the ground. Someone helped pull me out but the brand new y-pipe i put on got knocked off. I havn't been able to get under the car yet to check it out... The outside seems okay but there was snow and salt over everything so it was tough to see. In the end it wasn't bad (i think)... i'm just really pissed at myself.

oh man...thats not good to hear :(

but at least it wasn't as bad as it could have been. you could have been a lot worse. glad you and the car are ok

Oh no! :(

I hope the y-pipe is the only damage.
Don't beat yourself up, it could have been much worse!
Glad that you are unhurt!

Being positive, it certainly sounds pretty cool... Its loud as heck. So loud, that I didnt even try to get into the secondaries. That and you can hear it burble and backfire occasionally when you let off... It put a smile on my face to drive it like that. Even if i was worried about the damage... Makes me want a practically open exhaust... All it has right now is precats dumping into open air.

I'm sure it is loud. :D
At least you're smiling while polluting the air. ;)

Damn - sorry to hear about your car , Ryan :( . Like was said , could've been much worse - like paying higher insurance due to killing TWO cars . Glad to hear you're OK too .

I've got my fingers crossed that the car's only damage is the y-pipe .

I have an appointment to get it fixed in an hour...

It's not polluting any more than it was a 2 months ago, remember that until December i had no main cat.

Well it's all fixed. Only cost me $26.50 too. I also got to have a look under the car when it was on the lift and nothing else was damaged! The shop owner did disapprove of the design of the BAT Y-Pipe kit. He said it wasn't very well designed because it didn't use any kind of hangar to secure it. He said that something would almost certainly work its way loose eventually given the movement that the pipe & cat were capable of. I did ask what companies he recommended for performance exhausts and the first one he said was Borla which is what I am hoping to get eventually.

I miss the sound already! But at the same time its nice not having every single person staring at me for having a ridiculously loud exhaust.

Glad it's all fixed and that there was no other damage. :)
Maybe the guy could weld on a hanger if he thinks it needed.

Glad to hear everything went well and worked out for you. Sucks that you lost the sound though. It did sound pretty good.

Cool. When you called the other day and told me this, I wanted to cry. Oh noooo! Not the pretty T-red! Glad it was a cheap and easy fix. That is such a rare thing.

That's true.
Ever figure out what the issue was Scott?

Lookin' like clogged precat. Car died in Cranberry on Sat. night. Garage it was towed to said they'd look @ it for free and let me know. Got really loud, then had a hissing noise from EGR valve/tube area. God, i need a rental car or something.:nonono:

Yup - sounds like the clogged precat deal . Happened to my bro a while back - sorta common , mostly on early cars though . There's something written up about it on the main site , look in the FAQ's under common probs/complaints . Hope it's dealt with & the probs are over .

**EDIT** I looked it up for ya : CHECK IT OUT .
