Well the mechanic thats working on my car just called and told me to come and look at something on the trans. I just got the car back from the ford dealership, they were no help as to my differential problem. I took it there for a front end check to see what the problem might be...80 bucks later they say a whole new trans is needed. So I took the car out and my mechanic told me they might have taken off a part and not put it back on. He didnt know how to explain it, so I took pics of it and hoped for the best on here. He said...
Its the loose cable that is giving me free play in the shifter. I could move this right off with no effort....just look at the pics and see what you think:blackeye:

I know the trans is in on the ground in the pic. But the white link goes straight onto the circled bar.

Im trying my best to explain this, I am extremely frustrated with this. Any suggestions are helpful. He said there probably was some sort of washer to keep it from coming off.:help:

looks like the bushing is gone. time to order a new set of cable ends from Bill Jenkins.

Yeah, that cable end is only a few bucks from Bill Jenkins. It is easy to replace as well. The bushing is just missing from it.
