I bring to you, the most mysterious Contour problem ever. *Throttle Hang of Doom*

Not knowing your mileage. I have seen the butterfly in the throttle body hang up due to wear of the pivot. It gets worn and misaligns the butterfly, which causes it to hangup. Check the pivot.

i am having a similar intermittent problem. i am trying to diag it with joey slowly. it seems i have the tps wiring issue. i have played with it. sometimes it will idle at 3000 rpms. i have a number of places for potential vacuum leaks but the issue is inconsistent. i do have the bogging issue. sometimes my car will feel like it is gonna rip the front end out and other times it feels like im pushing a brick wall. good luck i will let you know if i find anything out of the ordinary.

take your throttle body off and tell me if your movement of the throttle body linkage is screwy, my throttle body is different from the ones bagged has layin around, mine uses some weird double linkage crap and it really doesn't have the smoothest movement, it feels like the butterfly screws are loose but they're not, play with it and tell me if you can move the throttle without movin the butterfly if you get what i'm sayin. my car used to do that but it hasn't in awhile, but my throttle feels like crap, i mean it doesn't really effect my day to day driving or WOT but if i'm trackin it and i need to have precise throttle it irritates me. i'm just tryin to buy a house at the moment so i'll live. lol.
