how fast are lotus's up top

And.... that's where this conversation is going to have to stop.

We simply do NOT talk about street racing on this site.. period
thats why i asked the question in the first place with regard to legally doing 80+. its clear that the lotus is likely going to win in a 1/4 mile drag race unless your boosted and can get traction.

300hp my ass. The S/C elise/exige only has 218hp. The base has 189hp crank. If it was a base exige, you could probably take it. They have a great power to weight ratio but also have considerable downforce which doesn't help speed up top.

Sorry i didn't clarify, I ment the Supercharged Version of the Type S ... which has 285 hp ... Not 300... So thats a my bad

At the end of 2005, Lotus developed and built the Lotus Sport Exige GT3 to suit the new FIA GT3 sportscar championship regulations. Weighing in at just 750 kg and producing around 285 hp, the Lotus Sport Exige GT3 is suitable for this new power to weight ratio racing. The Lotus Sport Exige GT3 also uses a Roots type supercharger, an air-to-air intercooler (both are race prepared) and the 1.8 2ZZ-GE VVTL-I engine. The base engine and supercharger system is identical in the Lotus Exige S.
So with the Exige S acting as the base, a competitive GT3 sportscar has been successfully developed!

218hp IS the supercharged version. The most powerful is the exige s 260, it has 260hp and the odds of the said lotus being that one were slim to none.

Who's contour finishes faster than any of the elises / exiges? Did we suddenly get a whole bunch of 12 and 13 second 1/4 milers while I wasn't looking?

*raises hand*

a 13.2 will put me in HUGE contention with most/all of those. and that is with a car that can't USE 1st and 2nd (or third on the streets)..

If I am STILL pulling a 13.2 @10x with a :censored::censored::censored::censored:ty 60' and no traction, IMAGINE what I would do to one from a roll..

Why does the 260 have more horsepower, and weigh less, yet still posts the EXACT same times as the 240?

I don't know, that doesn't seem to add up, sticky tires and an LSD should make up for that, plus it's an extra 20HP and 50lbs lighter.

N/A exige 248 HP on the dyno in a SCC mag two-pager. had ITB's and such. it wasnt stock. not very impressive, but keep in mind they go less than 2000 LB's. i have tried to race one but they declined.

The CSVT is helped, but then the axles snap, plus the only after-market diff offered for the MTX-75 is not a true LSD, but an ATB.
