How come our redline is so low?

Depending on the truck... GM has some instrument clusters that dont show redline on their diesels. And the tach goes up to 6K... But that doesnt mean that the engine will run that high. Matter of fact, It wont...


Although, i read in a Diesel Power mag that gale banks is tryin to get a diesel to run 7K rpm's...

even the Audi R10s diesel engine only goes to about 5000 RPM.
