Honda Restoration

I read the entire thread earlier today, and thought to myself, What a complete waste of money. I could completely understand doing something like this to a CSVT because they only made about 11,500 of them, but a 5th gen civic that production numbers were likely in the 6 digit range.... I dunno to each his own. That being said the attention to detail is amazing.

If everyone thought the way you do, there would be no 32' Ford coupes, no 57' chevys, no Model T's. Most of the cars that are awesome that you see at car shows would not be around simply because they had a high production number. Just because it is high production car, doesnt mean its not worth restoring.

it wasn't a full on restoration, there are plenty of subtle mods that set this car apart from other. it's just a shame that the thread went down the drain so fast. i would have liked to see the car finished. why doesn't someone do this with there contour? i don't car if it's a SVT or not, i love to see detailed builds such as this one.

If you have not noticed yet, every Ceg'er has this one thing in common. We are all poor, thus unable to do this exact same thing.

so apperently the guy who was doing the build was a scammer, and all of the stuff he bought was technically stolen from another guy on the website. to bad it was a pretty cool build none the less even though i hate hondas

Is this an opinion based on fact, or what you gathered from reading the thread? He may be a scammer, but I'm not sure if any parts in that Civic build were obtained illegitimately?

Not that I have any idea, I only know what was in the thread.
