Otay.....I checked my CEL. It was a
"P0411 Secondary Air Injection System Incorrect Flow Detected"

I assume this means there's air getting in beyond the MAF. There's also what seems like a miss under some conditions such as going up a slight incline. It started to mis a bit at idle too. I searched both old and new forums and didn't find anything on this code. Maybe some of the gurus on here can give me a bit of help. Obviously, I'm gonna put in some new APP-764's or the Autolite Xtreme iridiums and wires. Oh yeah, it's a V6. Thanks all.

The Contour is not equipped with a secondary air injection system so that code should not be possible.

I'd suggest you verify the fault code.

I knew that there was no secondary air injection, but I have gotten the code several times as verified by the code reader I was using. I suspect that the only way it can refer to an air leak beyond the MAF is with that code. Just looking for some verification and/or ideas here in case I'm wrong. Thanks for the reply though.

If you have Taurus 3L and a PCM for it or a reflash for the 2.5 PCM, you could get this code. If you do have a Taurus 3L, you may want to post a link to the 3L forums and see if one of those guys can help you.

Quick update......today I changed the plugs with Autolite XP-104 iridiums. The old APP-764's were shot beyond belief, well maybe not considering they had 110,000+ miles on them. I just took a short test drive today ensuring that I encountered conditions which caused the problem before. It did just fine, but I'm gonna withhold my glee until a week has passed and I'm sure. It sure runs smoother now and has more pep. I'll post after the week is past.
