Your ideas are really good and we would all love to see someone go after them. Problem is, noone has done it yet so your support from this forum would be very limited and anything you got would be speculation at best.
If this is your first build and you hope it to go smoothly, stay with the tried-and-true. Hell, there are plenty of issues floating around here all the time with builds that have been done a whole bunch. Can't imagine the can of worms that would arrise with trying to figure out varialbe timing, different head options, ect.
