I bought some interior spray at the local autobody supply store. In my case, as I think most places of this nature would be, you pick a colour sample (in my case the closest matching tan) and they put it in a spray can for you. Cost me $20. The stuff is apparently pretty versatile and claims it can be used on fabrics/headliners...carpet even.

I haven't tried it in your application, but you could look into a place near you that sells that stuff.

BTW apparently the Ford dealer sells interior-matching spray bombs too, although I haven't personaly checked out what they offer.

I always wanted to change my headliner-- Wandering around VWvortex.com where they change headliners often to something they want (burberry patterns, etc. etc.) always seemed cool to me- Not to many people have it and it's something that shows you took time to do-- Who knows-- I always wanted to do it though :) haha

When I started to redo my interior I had Dr. Vinyl color match the headliner. All they did was match the color and glue the new fabric on. Not sure on what the exact price was for them to do just that because I had several other items done at the same time. They also color matched the sunroof cover. I also ended up using pre-98 dark blue sunvisors, they match the headliner plus they look way better than the post 98 ones. I will see if I can get pics tomorrow.

Ok, so here are some pics. I also had the sunroof motor cover & O-**** handles color matched. I also installed another O-**** handle on the drivers side. The only problem is with the sunroof window cover. I could not see how to get it out of the sunroof mechanism so it is still gray in color. I plan on taking it back to Dr. Vinyl to have them try and dye it. The camera also really makes the color differences stand out for some reason but in person you cannot see the difference in colors.

Also if you swap to the pre-98 sunvisors make sure you grab both connectors. The pre-98 wire harness does not plug into the post-98 harness. Plus my 99 didn't have a lighted passenger side sunvisor so make sure you grab some of the harness also.

im bout to get this carbon fiber headliner with sunroof from topshopheadliners.com i bet if you guys wanted they could do you guys a carbon or fiberglass one.

yea ive seen a civic with a carbonfiber headliner. i wasnt that keen on it it just didnt look right but maybe one would look better on a contour who knows.

when you sprayed it? Did the headliner become krusty (best word I can think of) or hard? Did you have to apply a cleaning solution or primer to get it that colour? I want to colour match the headliner to my grey leather.

I'm guessing you were asking me this. I actually took the headline out of the car an took it to Dr. Vinyl. They found some material that matched the sunvisors the best. They removed the old gray felt and applied the new dark blue one.

A carbon fibre headliner would really turn up the noise level inside the car. The mass of "soft stuff" on the with a reg. headliner absorbs a lot of road noise.

I don't think it would be worth it it just for looks.

thanks and any other suggestions that i could use to make my svt that much better would be great

1. Tinted windows
2. Pre-98 center console.
3. pre-98 Trunck lid w/Lip Spoiler
4. SVT embroidered headrests are also cool.

Also if you go with a pre-98 center console you could also get matching shifter, E-brake & arm rest covers in italian leather.

Here is a link to some pics of my SVT and some mods that I have done.
