Well the headers are now installed. i found out some very interesting things about my car. such as my pre cats were melted. My new header didnt include studs for the firewall side to attach to the y-pipe. the fit in the front had about 3/8 of an inch room between the headers and the radiator fan, also you cant have the studs in and get the new headers in on the front side. but other than that i was nice having a pit and shop air. Bman is goona post pics because i'm a retard and dont know how. any questions let me know i'm might make a how-to also.

Anyways great pics!!! Allot of detail.

Tell everyone what tools/items you guys used to dothis install. That would be helpful for searchers.

Nah, I'm new here, but a member of 3si.org. I just copied the wrong link from photobucket

no driveablility issues. my cel isnt on yet. i think the o2s are kinda slow, that or my pc is retarded. i'm trying to find a chip for it(if you have one PM me). the only thing i dont like about the headers is the rasp from a straight though exhaust but the secondaries are really noticeable. oh and get paint that is higher than 1200 degrees. my headers destoryed the paint and its flaking off. i just wanna take here on the highway. and run her up the gears in a straight line(in moderation of course ;))

You'er in MI and you just used hi temp paint? Hope you don't plan on those lasting if you drive that car through the winter.

i do have a blue superchips code # xgt1 if your interested. for the 2000 model svt.

opens the imrc box 400 rpm sooner and a 7400 rpm soft redline with a 7500 rpm fuel cut . very noticable diffences shifting @ 7000 rpm puts you directly back into the power band aposed to 6800 rpm's .

HI TEMP PAINT WONT WORK. YOU NEED TO CERAMIC COAT THESE BAD BOYS IN HOPES OF NOT HAVING THEM RUST. EXHAUST TEMPS GET UP TO 1600° -1800°
SO 1100° PAINT WONT LAST LONG. BUT THERE ALREADY IN THERE SO SCREW IT. WAS THE EGR A PAIN TO GET IN OR EASY ? DID YOU HAVE TO REMOVE BOLT STUDS TO GET THE HEADERS IN AND OUT OR JUST THE MANIFOLD NUTS ? GASKETS LOOK CUSTOMS

i did use dupli-color ceramic paint but it was only rated to 1200 its not chiping as bad as i though its just wrinkeling like what dirt does when it gets dry and hot but still protecting the metal, the egr valve was easy i unbolted it from the upper intake and threaded it on the headers and bolted it back to the upper. i had to remove the studs on front (radiator) side of the engine to get the header in place but on the back side no i didnt have to remove the studs. the gaskets are from napa
