As a lot of you may know, that big storm system that ran through pretty much the whole east coast, caused a lot of damage. I got lucky, nothing bad happened around my parts. If only I was near my parts when the hailstorm hit. :nonono: I got some dents in the SVT now. Nothing major. You really have to look in order to see it. But I KNOW it's there. Which is why before I make my insurance sky rocket by turning the damage into them, I'm going to try some homemade methods. Has anyone tried them? The dry ice one seems to be the most legit one, metal does expand and can possibly "pop" the dents out.

Those dents are going to be too faint/small for the dry ice/canned air trick.......

You really carrying comprehensive (not collision) coverage on your Contour? Out of curiosity, whats that costing a year, and what is the deductible? Around these parts, body shops are $65/hour and up. Filing a claim might be a quick way to get your title branded "salvage", I mean, come on, my 98 SVT is worth the same as yours "by the book". Either way, an at-fault collision claim could/should increase your premiums. Atleast in my experience, a comp claim, due to act of god, had $0 impact. As far as skyrocketing, each state's insurance commission sets laws about increases.

BTW, glad you did make out as well as you did. Unfortunately the US media is following this royal wedding & not the storm and its death tool and destruction. Sad.

I have comprehensive coverage on my 1995 SE Contour . $0 deductable $27 a month for all the coverage (collision, comp, uninsured, underinsured, etc). Comp claim shouldn't raise his deductable, like you said but they *might* total it :-/

My whole yearly premium is around $900, I'm paying about $80 a month. But thats on 2 cars. So I have no clue what it would be on just the SVT. I've checked a couple of body shops, Dent Wizard, Dent Doctor, and PDR Factory. Dent Wizard was by far the most expensive charging $75 for each dent. And I only told him I wanted the bigger ones taken out. PDR was the cheapest, doing my whole car for $300. I'd rather spend $10-$20 and experiment with some different methods.

This is just my opinion, but I would not go with Paintless dent removal. Last time we had a major hailstorm around here, everybody had this done and about 75% of people had clearcoat peeling in about 6 months. Would be better to have them removed. Just my .02.
