Had a short now car is dead

I do have a ford cd but its at my friends house. I connect the jumper from the pos battery terminal to the red wire on the steering column that my aftermarket alarm connects to. Wierd thing is now I can use my stock key fob and everything works on the key fob. When the aftermarket alarm is on the stock key fob doesnt work.

I don’t have my 99 cd handy, so this is what I got off of my 98. There is a red wire that goes from the battery junction box (BJB) to the ignition switch connector #456. This is fed from F10 in BJB. F10 also feeds central junction box (CJB) F26 through connector C361 which is, looking at the face of the CJB, the top 4 wires on the rt large connector (not sure which position it is) and the headlight switch, both are red wires. NOTE:since I don't have my 99cd handy and I know there are some changes in the wiring for 99 I would check all the 20a fuses in the BJB since I also know #10 to be the wrong one. That is if you have the micro mini fuses not just the mini fuses. At some point in 99 they changed the BJB style. Mine is the new style so I know it is different from pre 99's, either #11 or #46.

On the back of the CJB there is a two prong connector with two red wires in it. That is C370. It is fed from the BJB F1 which is the first fuse in the three joined fuses at the front of the BJB, it is 80amps. One wire feeds the ignition relay, and F20, F21, F23, & F38. The other feeds C57 – courtesy lamp relay, C56 – rear window defrost relay, F24, F25, F27, F28, F34, & F36.

Hope this helps,
AF

I'd say ditch the alarm.
You don't need it.
Let's face it.. To the entire world (CEG members excluded) you have a 10+ year old Ford Contour...
Nobody wants to steal it...

its not where the alarm was slpiced in because I just redid those connections. I am going to look at the wire now and trace it.

As for removing my alarm uuuuummm no. I mean I doubt its that that is causing the trouble because I would have headlights and fogs if it were that. I disconnected the brain and nothing happened when I did that. I also disconnected the connection and still nothing so its def the wires

9 years old and 19" wheels that everyone and their mama wants that have, dual bolt patterns for hondas aswell. Lets not forget we live in miami... look up the crime/theft rate....when you have an alarm with motion sensors that cause the alarm to go off if its being jacked up is a pretty good incentive if you ask me. I dont want to hear the BS about if your not around your car it doesnt matter anyways. Duh its just a risk we take in life but I wake up from my sleep when I hear my alarm going off at my house... oh and do me a favor and search on CEG how many people get their cars broken into 10 years old or 100 years old it doesnt matter when someone wants it they are going to try to steal it... NUFF SAID
