GT3 + wall at waterford hills = pain!!

The paint on that car is prolly worth 2 of my cars.

try about 8

Thats going to cost in the 20K range to fix. Let alone finding a place that will be able to fix it, plus the fact that it will be out of pocket, since insurance companies dont cover track days.

How did that green Mystique in the background do?

Over that white banged up car? I got my money on the Mystique right now. Any takers? :D

i should add the guy just got the car after waiting six months, and it was his cousin that wrecked it. :help: :blackeye:

For the fun of it, let say this was the owner...how do you go about explaining that to the Mrs. back at home? Cause even if I was the bread winner (which I ain't) I think I might be on the couch for a while. Yeah...that wouldn't be pretty.

This is the track we are thinking about running at SZ anyone wanting to back out now? :)

omg I just detailed one of those..

In person, the GT3 is one sexy ass car. Although I wasnt too impressed with its specs though, 440hp with 300tq. But im sure as all the owners would say, it handles like a dream..

Anywho, that sucks man, I would be pissed if that happened to my $140K car

I don't think any of you FWD guys have anything to worry about....

The GT3 has precise handling, but keep in mind, it's STILL a 911, and it STILL swings like a yo-yo if you don't know how to drive one.

Spicoli..."don't worry, my Dad's a TV repairman, he's got this awesome set of tools, I can fix it!"

Right, you're just talking to people on a website about a car that has terrible lift throttle snap oversteer...

my dads friend has one, and its nice as hell. he took me for a ride in it, but wouldn't let me drive it (of course).

what are you talking about man? the new GT3 first of all has 415hp, while the previous model has 380hp. where did you get 440? and what more do you want from a 3.6L naturally aspirated engine?? it has close to a 12.0:1 compression ratio with a redline of 8400 rpms. i don't know what there is to not be impressed with.

Only if you put a bigger bar on the back . . . Otherwise its just right for a real track. Though, the snap oversteer is darn useful on an AutoX course.

Oh Yeah Snap Oveersteer!

It got me & My 996 in the rain!

Going maybe 30mph, head on into ARMCO and it did $18,000 in damage and didn't even set off the airbag.............

Man I feel for this person....................:( :(

If you know that it's there... if you don't it could catch you pretty bad. It was pretty noticeable in my stock bar'd car.

Just ask Steeda what it's like with an aftermarket bar.. Hah.

Those cars have soo much power, and are so unbalanced that for a driver with little experience driving one could easily swing the back end out, lose traction on the grass, and scrap the wall. It's mostly body, the wheels look straight.

Bigger rear is ok if you realize that if you make a improper turn and have to lift sharply you are going for a ride. I think to notice the diff between the two you would have to run the same car with the diff rear bar back to back.

That being said I could still make my #2 SVT with a stock bar snap oversteer like crazy if wanted to

I posted on Vortex and someone replied with this...

Assuming that the third photograph represents the place where the car came to rest, I would bet money that the following scenario is correct:

Take a look at this track map.
http://www.na-motorsports.com/...s.gif

The track between #4 and #5 is downhill and feels off-camber although it may not actually be so. During my time at WH I repeatedly watched young drivers in hot cars overdrive that section and find themselves pointing in the wrong direction at 5. This is almost certainly what happened.

Quote »For all you know, someone else may have made a bone-headed maneuver that forced them off the pavement.

Were that the case, they would go off to the right of 5 and end up harmlessly in the field. There's no passing permitted at WH between the top of 4 and Big Bend unless there's a point-by (or it's a WHRRI race). So there's no reason for anybody to be "bone-heading" next to you at 5. But if you were to be coming down the hill and you saw somebody doing something stupid ahead of you:

a) you could stop. There's time. Or
b) you could drive off to the right where there's no guardrail and there's limitless runoff.
