GROUP BUY: Subframe Connector GB is ON!

Wow. Does anybody know this guy in real life? Maybe someone close to his hometown could swing by and find out whats going on. I don't want to sound morbid but maybe something happened to him.
 
I have been paid in full since late March on this GB. I just attempted to open a dispute resolution with PayPal and got this message:

Thank you for registering your complaint about this transaction. Unfortunately, this type of transaction is not eligible for PayPal dispute resolution. We encourage you to continue to work directly with your seller, as we have found that many misunderstandings reach amicable solutions through communication.

It certainly appears as though there is no longer a seller to work with. I have sent several emails to nicklamet86@aol.com asking him to update the status here, and received nothing back.

His last login to Contour.org was April 20, 2010. He went from 6,600 total posts, 3 posts/day to nothing; seems odd.

Caveat emptor...
 
this isn't the first time steve has gone awol.

a tidbit from my experience...

subframe connectors arent my business. so [don't] consider yourself a real customer. there were more delays than just the paperwork. but whatever. its not a matter of being fair and reasonable. the set is done. you paid for it. there's no reason to cancel the deal because youre all butthurt that they took too long.

Hmmm, if Steve doesn't want to be just a little bit customer-oriented, he shouldn't start these things. I searched and found his 2008 SFC group purchase thread, and the last page there looks a lot like this particular thread. I'm not butthurt, I'm too old for that, but he has collected a fair amount of money, and that places some responsibility in his court to keep his customers up to date, whether he considers us real or not.

If anyone knows what other boards he's a part of you could start checking there to see if he's posting (like SVT Performance). Seems odd he'd just up and disappear, he's been around forever.

Rara already stated that Worldtour is trying to get in touch with him.

On another note, I bought some parts from Steve last year, and had no issues. I went down to pick them up, but I didn't get to meet him since he was working. I met John (the guy he's doing the connectors with) and picked the parts up from his house. He was a pretty cool guy, unfortunately I don't think I have his address anymore.

I'm in this and his mirko GB. I'm not worried in the least and I just lost $80 in another GB. I can understand the frustration everyone has though. I'm way more worried that something might have actually happened to Steve than I am with him running off with our money.
 
I was in the first SFC GB too and don't remember having any issues at all.

Well I'm glad to see he's seemingly OK but now it looks like he's just ignoring you all. Bummer.

Oh I didn't realize he was a member on LRodder too. I'm a member there too. His last login over there was 2 days ago. I'll post over there and tell people to beware.

edit: I PM'ed him. This is what I said:

"Hi there. Some people over on the Contour site are starting to think you ripped them off. You should really update the group buy thread. Its been over a month now with no updates. Man up dude."

I'll let you know what I hear.
 
hey all.
im sorry all, i have 10 sets sitting here but have been way overloaded here with other stuff that needs to get shipped out. so far ive only had 9 people pay in full and a few of those have been shipped out already. i have plenty of sets with endcaps sitting here ready to go.

thank you to those who posted positive things about me and past dealings. im not here to screw anyone over. ive just gotten incredibly busy and recently bought a house and moved and a ton of other bs. mostly just excuses though. im sorry to let you guys down. i GUARANTEE i will have every set that has been paid in full to this date, shipped out by the end of the week. i will even come back in here and post usernames when they ship.

please accept my apologies on dragging ass.

I'm moving to AZ in 3 weeks, so let me know if I need to have them shipped out there, or if they will make it here to NY in time... (Id rather them ship here so I can take them to my friend at the metal shop than find a new one in AZ) - Just lmk plz.
