Steve looking at your picture of the stay it looks like you have it installed backwards.... below is the picture from blu_fuz's GB. The bent portion is supposed to be at the top. Looks like you have it on the bumper.

ok ill check it out as soon as this monsoon we're currently experiencing stops! ugh!

we havent heard back from ED yet about dropping the car off which isnt surprising considering the holidays are days away. possibly next week but i wouldnt even be surprised if it was after NY's. most shops are down or barely running during Christmas to NYs. but the car is ready to go in, save for the backwards installed stays :o
 
Steve, don't know if you got my text, but they said this Wed or Thurs you could bring the car in as it would be a quick test fit. Let me know asap. At the beginning of the year they are working on a new Corvette project for me so I would like to get this out of the way first, otherwise they might not have time for a while.
 
no time last week due to the holidays. the plan is to get it over there this week. already been discussing it today. its at the top of the to do list.
 
quick update: im hoping to get it dropped off tomorrow. have a ride planned out. just waiting to hear back from ED if theyre ok to take it in. ill post up the results tomorrow.
 
i was all ready and had a ride home set up and ED said they couldnt take the car in today. but they said monday should work for them. no big deal since i was going to drop it off today at about 3pm anyways. but we are definitely set for monday now.
 
i dropped the car off. i met with the guy who is now in charge of this project as well as the head prototyper who said he is a professional clay modeler by trade. i explained/showed them the issue that the ends need to be brought in a little. they brought out a splitter from the 2nd batch so i could show them that one blem spot but it didnt have one. they said maybe it was just on that one piece.

i talked to them about possibly making side skirts. we kicked some ideas back and forth about those.

im picking the car back up tomorrow morning. they said they'd only need it for a few hours.
 
Hey guys, I talked to ED today and they said they seen what the problem was and are going to shorten it a bit. They noticed once it was pushed in it fit pretty well. I also asked about the area around the fog lights and they said they are instructed to pay attention to that area when making the new ones. They said it's all shaped by hand so it won't always be 100% perfect but they'll try their best to make it look good. I'll ask that they put some priority on this as it's been WAY too long.

have they resolved their issues with the carbon fiber too? Man, I cant wait to get this :drool:

Did they say anything about the gaps as the splitter wraps around the bumper. Like the one pictured below? It's almost seems as if they brought the width in it would take care of it.

^ you cannot fool this guy! Also hope they had enough time to fix their carbon fiber issues as my car will get painted and completed any day the shop decides to.....

Steve might have a better answer for that question. You saying it should be shortened overall? They are cutting off the end tabs and bringing those in, they said it fit a lot better as we noticed when it was pushed up against the bumper with the spacers placed in the fenderwells.

As for the carbon, they have no issues right now that I know of with their carbon. I have been recieving carbon pieces for my Vette crowd so yea no issues there.
