Found an SVT at the local U Pull-U Pay salvage yard. Grabbed the front and rear bumpers and exhaust for less than $100. Of course the front bumper was extra cheap since it was so badly damaged.

This one was cracked in several places along with the hole in the middle. When we pulled it from the car it sort of fell in on itself and folded up. I thought it was a goner, but my Dad said it was still repairable. Looks like it was driven through a barbed wire fence.

Both foglight holes were split all the way down to the bottom. Mesh of course was destroyed

The rear was in good condition.

And... the final pic. I painted them in a friends garage and left them there to cure for a day. He then managed to knock the rear bumper off the stand, and scratch the hell out of it moving some metal around :mad: Front bumper took some abuse too. Just gonna make me repaint them (along with the rest of the car) sooner than I wanted. Anyone have some front and rear mesh they want to get rid of for cheap?

Installed pics should be posted early next week. Just wanted to show our bodywork and paint skills

great fix up job.

As for the mesh, you can just buy some of the aluminum mesh if you get in a pinch and cut tabs to make it fit. There is steel mesh that is identical to the stock stuff.

se skirts and svt bumpers don't look good at all
the skirts are rounded on the se,the body kit on the svt is flat and squared. i've done it personally..for all of 2 days:nonono:

yah do yourself and everyone else a favor and get the svt skirts, the se's would not match up at all. other then that the bumpers look good, sounds like alot of work!

Hmm, I guess I will have to see how it looks to me. I have too much work into these bumpers to not use them. Guess I better keep an eye out for some SVT side skirts just in case.

Incredible job man! I would never have believed that was the same bumper

What did you use to fix the wholes/scratches? I've got a few deep scratches in my bumper and I'm not sure what to patch them with.

I just used some spot filler and a few coats of filler-primer. Holes and cracks were reinforced with fiberglass. It would be better to find something that is flexable so it bends with the bumper. I just used what I had.

Rear bumper is on. I honestly dont think it looks too bad with SE skirts. Better than no skirts, I bet.

Awesome work!

Please tell us that you got the vin number from the SVT to register it in the "All SVTs go to heaven" thread....

I actually thought about that after I left the yard. I want to go back next week, if the car is still there I will get the number.

I hope to get around to the front bumper Monday. When I do I will get pics.
